Trust pays tribute to Hillsborough victims
Steve Nicholson, the Secretary of the Fulham Supporters’ Trust, laid a wreath at the Hillsborough Memorial ahead of this afternoon’s Premier League fixture between Liverpool and Fulham to pay tribute to the victims of the Hillsborough disaster on the 27th anniversary of the dreadful day that saw 97 supporters lose their lives.
The Trust has previously supported motions to formally investigate the circumstances surrounding the Hillsborough disaster and our members were present at the House of Commons when the current Mayor of the London City Region Steve Rotheram, then Member of Parliament for Liverpool Walton, read the names of the victims into Hansard during an emotional speech in October 2011.
We would like to thank Flowers by Lynsey Meadows the Member of Parliament for Liverpool West Derby, Ian Byrne, and Spirit of Shankly, the Liverpool Supporters’ Union, for their assistance and support at short notice in creating a fitting tribute. We will never forget the 97.
