Away Day Guide – AFC Bournemouth

On Saturday 20th April we travel to the Vitality Stadium for our penultimate away game (3pm kick off). Here is the FST away day guide to AFC Bournemouth.

TICKETING INFORMATION

Fulham have sold their full allocation for the trip to the Vitality Stadium to play AFC Bournemouth. This means there will be no tickets on sale at the ground to away fans.

GETTING TO THE VITALITY STADIUM

BY CAR

The football ground is clearly signposted from the A338 as you head towards Bournemouth. The stadium’s floodlights should come into view on the left as you approach it, but you should leave the motorway via a slip road following the signs for ‘Kings Park/Football traffic’. Take the second exit at the following roundabout onto Kings Road Drive and you will see both the entrance to the Vitality Stadium and the car park on your left. The car park costs £3.50 for four hours or £5 for all day and visiting supporters are advised to arrive at least 90 minutes before kick off or risk disappointment.

Other parking options include the free of charge Harewood College on Harewood Avenue, which is about a ten minute walk away, whilst there is street parking in nearby Boscombe and the option to park in the Sovereign Shopping Centre on Christchurch Road, about a 20 minute walk away, priced at £2 for four hours.

BY TRAIN

Pokesdown is the closest train station to the Vitality Stadium. It is about a mile away from the ground and approximately 15 minutes’ walk away. Whilst Pokesdown itself is served by London Waterloo, most trains will take you to Bournemouth Central, which is roughly 30 minutes’ walk from the ground. From Bournemouth Central, supporters can catch an ownward train to Pokesdown, take a taxi to the ground (approximately £8) or get a number 33 bus from next to the nearby Texaco Garage to the south of the station.

AWAY PUBS

There are a number of options in the centre of Bournemouth that might suit supporters travelling by train to the game, although fans should be advised to leave ample time to reach the Vitality Stadium.

The closest establishments welcoming away fans in the vicinity of the ground itself are Mello Mello Bar, which offers live sport on televised screens, (677 Christchurch Rd, Bournemouth, BH7 6AA) and Baxters (682-684 Christchurch Rd, Bournemouth, BH7 6BT), which also doubles as a live music venue.

Alcohol is also available inside the stadium itself, with John Smith’s and Foster available at £3.50.
