Fulham Strikers: a celebration of post-war goalscoring

Published in November, 2013, the book details one hundred ‘number 9s’, centre forwards and principal Fulham goal-scorers from the Second World War until the end of last season, in an eight-decade sequence – ‘From Beddy to Berbatov’. For all of the principal seventy-five players, it covers their youth career, careers at previous clubs, but concentrates on their time at Craven Cottage. Also included are their playing careers after leaving Fulham, including non-league and, if known, what they did after leaving the game. Their history includes clubs abroad and their international careers. Their Fulham period details highlights, hat-tricks and special matches and anecdotal material, and also analyses what kind of player he was, his attributes and style. Each player’s playing statistics are given and is illustrated with Ken Coton/Ashwater pictures augmented by some newspaper and private images. The book is completed by a number of intriguing statistical tables, facts and figures.

The book is a quality limited edition hardback publication, A4 size (12” x 8.5”), with 272 pages and, in full colour, it contains well over 250 pictures, a number of which were yet to been published.

The Trust continues to offer is full support and endorsement of Ashwater Press’s publications and recommends ‘Fulham Strikers’ to all our members and to fans of Fulham FC in general.

As requested by Ashwater’s customers, there will be a final opportunity to buy or collect the few remaining books at the ground before the home game with Manchester City on 21st. December, 2013. There will be plenty of opportunity in terms of time, since Martin will be there from approximately 15.15 until around 14.50, right next to David Lloyd and the TOOFIF team, at the Hammersmith End of the ground. The Trust is informed that Martin will bring with him a few of the remaining copies of the tomes on Johnny Haynes and David Hamilton.

Try to be early to avoid disappointment since they have been sold out inside 30 minutes on previous occasions. If possible, to save time on the day and to guarantee a reserved copy, please pay in advance by using the ‘collect from ground’ option in the drop down menu on the Ashwater Press website (http://www.ashwaterpress.co.uk/).

N.B.: A recent up-date from Ashwater Press has indicated that 60% of the available print-run has been sold or reserved within the first fortnight of going on sale. The ‘Fulham Strikers’ continues to sell very rapidly and we expect to be sold out by mid-December.
