January members’ questions answered
The Trust received a number of questions from our members that were put to the Fulham Football Club last month in place of our usual monthly meeting. We have received the following answers from Fulham FC:
QUESTION: ‘Water supply seems to be an issue in the Hammersmith End, slowing down the sale of hot beverages, for example tea and coffee. What is the problem and can anything be done?
ANSWER: Tea and Coffee is served via urns, so it depends on how quickly the urn can refill and reboil. We are working with Zip and Brita at the moment to install boiling taps.
QUESTION: Can away team flags be re-introduced on the Riverside walk?
ANSWER: This isn’t something that we have planning permission for – if the correspondent is referring to the similar style of flags that we had decades ago. It is not something we would look to do as they could not remain a permanent structure.
QUESTION: The self-service beer pouring machines in H4 and H5 keep breaking down and queues elsewhere make it difficult to get a drink at half-time.
ANSWER: This has been taken up with Sodexo.
QUESTION: Is there any way that for a fee, access to the Riverside catering facilities could be made available pre-match to holders of tickets in other parts of the ground?
ANSWER: No, this is not possible due to calculations on the concourses that have to adhere to capacity numbers.
QUESTION: We have had correspondence about the effect on individuals and the environment of the pre-match flame displays. Can we please confirm what process has been gone through to ensure these meet current safety requirements?
ANSWER: The pre-match flame displays comply with all safety and licensing requirements.
QUESTION: Facilities, particularly toilets, remain an issue with a number of members. It has been suggested a working group be formed to include the Club and fans to try and work through some of these issues.
ANSWER: The Club are aware of the issues with toilets, particularly at the Hammersmith End, and are exploring options.
QUESTION: Crowding on the HE concourse is pretty dreadful particularly at half-time. It just doesn’t feel safe?
ANSWER: Admission numbers comply with all licensing requirements.
