FSA statement on Christmas and New Year fixtures
On Friday, the Premier League finally confirmed the Christmas and New Year fixture list. There will be only one Premier League fixture taking place on Boxing Day, kicking off at 8pm.
The Football Supporters Association have issued the following statement this afternoon:
“Matchgoing fans are simply fed-up of unsociable kick-off times – 8pm kick-offs on Boxing Day and New Year’s Day show that TV is prioritised above all else. The scales must be rebalanced.
“To compound the issue, it has taken an extra two weeks to come up with these TV selections, as we still await the announcement of the rest of January, football fans deserve better.”
The Trust supports this statement from the FSA.
