Representing your views since 2003

Election Announcement

Elections to the Board - 31 August 2019

Thank you for your continued support for the Fulham Supporters’ Trust. The Trust exists to represent Fulham fans’ views and concerns to the Club, through regular meetings; to seek to ensure Fulham remain at Craven Cottage; and to be part of the wider football supporters’ movement campaigning for better governance and supporter involvement in football. There is a lot more information of what we do on our website.

The Trust is owned by its members, regulated by the Financial Conduct Authority, and has a Board elected by our members to run the Trust day to day. All of our Board members are volunteers, and we are always keen for more of our members to be involved in the Trust.

Following the adoption of a revised elections policy at our most recent AGM, the Trust is now inviting nominations for people to join the Board for terms of one, two and three years. This year, all of the current Board can seek re-election and Trust members will elect up to 13 people to the Board. In subsequent years one third of the Board will be up for election for three year terms to enable both continuity and new blood for the Trust.

The election rules are attached here, and the election process will be overseen by an independent scrutineer – who is a Trust member who is neither a candidate nor nominating or seconding a candidate.

The Board usually meets once a month, currently evening meetings usually in Hammersmith, and as well as regular monthly meetings with the Club (which happen during the day at Motspur Park) we are also members of the Metropolitan Police independent advisory group, affiliated to the national umbrella body for Trusts, the Football Supporters’ Association, and part of the EFL Championship supporters’ group.

The current Trust Board encompasses people with a range of skills and experiences, all committed Fulham fans of different ages and backgrounds, to run the Trust. We would like to encourage more of our members to consider getting involved – for example, if you have skills particularly in social media, organising events, campaigning, perhaps a legal or financial background, running membership systems or just a passion for Fulham Football Club and have something to offer, please consider getting involved.

To be eligible to stand for election in 2019, the only requirements are that you were a Trust member at 1 June 2019 (the start of our financial year), and that you are nominated and seconded by current Trust members who also joined prior to 1 June 2019. You will need to supply contact information for yourself and those nominating and seconding you and a 200 word election statement that will be sent out with the electronic voting forms (if there are more nominations than places available for election).

The details of the information we need from you are in the nomination form – please supply that information by email to election2019@fulhamsupporterstrust.com by Saturday 14 September 2019.

We hope that you will consider either putting yourself forward or encouraging others you know who may be interested and have the time, skills and interest to get involved. The Trust is at its strongest when our members are engaged. Thank you again for your membership and support of the Trust.

Yours, on behalf of the current FST Board
